• To reduce the total number of false alarms received from Puerto Rico. 

Audience

• Customers residing in Puerto Rico.

Challenge

• Puerto Rican customers experience for 90 percent of false alarms received in the Alarm Response Center, yet account for only 10 percent of the overall customer base.
• No type of jurisdiction in place to manage integrity of alarm monitoring in the area. 
• Significant lack of customer education at alarm install or throughout relationship.

• Conducted deep research in system types, settings and laws linked to alarm triggers.
• Created in depth strategy to approach false alarm concern specific to this area.
• Developed false alarm prevention cards, writing all copy and coordinating production with designer and print facility:
  • Designed small enough to fit behind top of keypad
  • Offered tips on how to prevent the most common triggers, as well as step-by-step instruction on arming/disarming system
  • Featured business-card-sized tear-off for customers to write important code information
  • Accompanying cover letter with explanation
